Oh Happy Treats specialises in handmade sweet treats and bespoke cakes. All our desserts are 100% vegan with a focus on plant-based whole foods. We make both raw vegan and baked goods, with most of our stuff being made without gluten or refined sugar. We love incorporating seasonal Irish fruit and veg and changing up our offerings at the time of the year. We believe that you don’t have to sacrifice taste, aesthetic or pleasure for a healthy slice of cake. Whether you’ve got a big celebration, a coffee morning or a work meeting that requires some healthy goodies to get ya through, we have you covered. You can have your cake and eat it too!
About me / Oh Happy Veggie
I’ve loved to bake (and eat!) ever since I was a child. I’m a total foodie and really started to question where my food was coming from and what effect it was having on the planet a few years ago. Switching to a plant-based vegan lifestyle in 2014 forced me to experiment with new ingredients and methods to maintain my love for baking. I grew a passion for sharing photos of my vegan creations just for fun on social media, along with other life and travel posts. I think there weren’t many people doing that in Ireland at the time, which is why I started to build a bit of an audience.
I was working in a cafe in Dublin called Yogism (now Tang) and they allowed me the freedom to experiment and create raw treats as part of my job. I never intended for it to turn into my own business, but several suggestions from colleagues, friends and followers wanting to be able to try my creations had me thinking hold on, I might be able to turn my favourite hobby into my dream job. After travelling and living abroad in Sydney I was hugely inspired by the food scene over there and knew I wanted to start my own venture when I came home.
Oh Happy Treats was born in December 2017, just in time for Christmas cake!
